Consort Express Lines Supports Port Moresby Nature Park Conservation Project
Consort Express Lines has supported Port Moresby Nature Park with the donation of three 20ft refrigerated containers to assist with the development of new conservation facilities at the park.
The containers will be repurposed by the Nature Park team as part of its 2026 reptile project and frog biosecure conservation lab. The project will support the development of new enclosures and specialised facilities for animals that require cooler, controlled environments.
Port Moresby Nature Park continues to play an important role in wildlife care, conservation, education and community engagement, creating a space where families and communities can connect with Papua New Guinea’s unique biodiversity.
The donated refrigerated containers were selected from decommissioned Consort Express Lines units and made available for the Nature Park project at no cost. While the units are no longer part of Consort’s active operating fleet, they will now be given a new purpose as practical infrastructure supporting conservation outcomes.
The initiative was supported through a joint effort across Steamships Logistics, with Consort Express Lines assisting through the marine and container coordination, while EastWest Transport supported the landside movement and delivery of the containers to site.
The delivery reflects a practical example of how logistics assets can continue to create value beyond the supply chain, supporting community based projects that contribute to conservation, education and long term environmental outcomes.
